Beauty Myth

Beauty Myth, captures these women with make-up and without make-up. The photographs compare and contrast their aesthetic appearance. The striped back, uniformed look, that makes women more aesthetically similar, compared to the wearing of make-up, that makes women more aesthetically different.

I wanted to raise the topic of make-up and question why do women wear make-up? Is it to make themselves more beautiful? or is it a social pressure from women or men? and what are the implications of wearing make-up? What are the implications when interacting with the opposite sex?

I believe that women and men are not that aesthetically different, but I believe that some women are culturally dependent through ideas of femininity, and to make themselves different and then pressure is put directly or indirectly on other women to conform.
