Untitled

This work emphasizes the subjective essence of photography by the manufacturing of a relationship between text and image. To this end, the personal internal reflection of the text is juxtaposed with the external expression of the imagery.

The subject captured is a representation of a society. The person was photographed only  because they happened to be in this area, of this city, at that period in time. The location chosen, is a particular visual manifestation of an urban environment constructed for a society.

The text below is from my personal, reflective and expressive poems I have written on life over a number of years. When exhibiting, the text was placed underneath the photograph.

The kid's couldn’t careless appeal

Smile, dance, sit on the seat of their pants

Put digits on my calling device

Life is hard, it makes your limbs weak

God only knows what they’ll say

For I can see-able future

Breathing deeply, consciously

Blow out the candles and cut the cake

And pay for a night
