They are images that August Sanders describes as ‘mans organic tools’. I captured the parts of my body that aesthetically and expressively make me who I am. I think it was the best place to start, focusing on the nearest thing to me, as John Coplan did when he started photographing.
The use of personal hand written text adds to the expression of my aesthetic body. Also the different techniques I used creates an uneasy feel and an awkwardness.
These images were captured in a studio and processed in a darkroom.
